The SmartLight Stair Gate is a child safety gate containing motion-activated lights that illuminate the stairway and landing upon approach.

Conceived and sold by Safety 1st, Grand Idea Studio developed the initial proof-of-concept prototype. Features include multiple passive infrared (PIR) sensors for motion detection and high-brightness white LEDs that turn off after a defined period of no motion.
